VLC does play the entirety of each book with no issues.
A couple other programs (most noteably my tag editor) do in fact have parsing issues with several of the files and show a truncated duration (roughly 10-11 minutes).
An example diagnostic message on a file that has issues: “Real size of MPEG audio frames (169420567 byte) is not in accordance with value provided by Xing header (10450232 byte). The real size will be used.”
These may actually have problems playing depending on how the player used resolves issues like this.
