(I’ve been looking for a version of this book that’d be narrated by Kristin Atherton, not Jenny Sterlin, but couldn’t find one here so I’ve decided to upload it myself. The playback is a little sped up.)

I always tend to freak out seeing a female voice narrator - You either get a perfect mellow sultry voice or a teenage girl with stinging American accent - and I just can’t for the latter — Here’s hoping I don’t turn it off in 3 seconds upon hearing the voice….

@audiowyrm @nihilizm it feels like it’s sped up because it is, I’ve written it in the desc. I recorded the audio this way ’cause it was only supposed to be for me and I find the standard 1.0 playback to be too slow. I’ve only recently decided to share it but I only have this sped up version. You can use any kind of app/software to slow it down if you find it to be too fast tho. The next time I record an audiobook I’ll probably share it here as well so I won’t speed it up next time (since it sounds more natural if you speed it up later instead of the opposite).

@nihilizm I avoid female narrators as well because their voices hurt my ears, unless it’s an elderly woman. That’s why I rarely get to hear female authors - because these days, they ALWAYS have female narrators. It’s as if the publishers imagine (maybe correctly) that the most of the female part of the audience of female authors are feminist man-haters who want everything in their lives to be female-only. I’d love to hear more books, but I just can’t abide the 10-20 hours of aural torture it is. Give me a soothing, calm, male voice, please!! Or at least give us a choice! Can’t wait for AI voices on demand.
