In this book, Michael needs to shop for a better deception ability to hide his power mark. 10 hours in, he’s long since gotten what he needed and is still distractedly stomping out a group of random idiots despite having already gotten his shopping done and having the ability to simply leave the area and go meet up with his pack, all this on the tail of book six where he felt he urgently needed to reunite with his dependents who aren’t actually facing any concrete or urgent danger. Michael’s fear of missing out pales in comparison to his unceasing desire to murderhobo.
The way he drunkenly stumbles around the world and into every trap and obvious, avoidable situation yet still manages to gather power and influence is truly inspiring. Other books that do this kind of fumbling lout at least have the decency to make the dumb puppy an unkillable juggernaut, but no, Michael’s an arrogant, reckless dex build.
