Finished the first book but don’t think I’ll read the rest. I enjoyed the concept and worldbuilding, but I really couldn’t stand the protagonist.

I do not recommend people try this unless it’s very specifically their flavor. Decent quality files, so thank you to the uploader.
The author did well with the world building and power sets. That said, EVERY character is hard to stand except for a couple you only hear from once or twice.
I think this book is for you if you are okay with both of the following:
1. Extensively exploring trans and other alphabet themes.
2. A plot that is moved forward almost exclusively by every character making the most moronic decision possible despite the author trying to explain they are geniuses. This keeps friends pitted against each other and enemies working together until the character you hate the least gets back stabbed… AGAIN. The happens over and over without fail.
A trainwreck of a series that just gets more and more tiring as it moves on. It keeps seeming like they are about to move towards something entertaining, then the author pulls the rug out from under you again. Everything you hate about it starts as more of a sidequest, but moves further and further towards being the focus of the story, to the point where entire consecutive chapters are all about interpersonal drama and emotional soul searching.
